Just a few minutes from the immense beaches of the Landes coast, Azur is located in the heart of the thick Landes forest, right on the shores of the great Soustons lake. A true haven of peace, this small village, marked by tradition, has many beautiful sites to visit: its feudal mound, dating back to the end of the 12th century in particular, testifies to the importance of Azure in religious history (the town was one of the strongholds of the Hospitaliers de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem). In the heart of the pines, this small typical village will seduce hiking enthusiasts, as well as mountain bike tour aficionados. The most sporty can opt for the 40 km trail around Seignosse and Angresse via the Etang Blanc and Etang de Hardy, when the most contemplative and families will enjoy the beauty of the coastal routes. As for the hiking trails, there are more than 3500 kilometres of marked trails that criss-cross all the Landes: the airials circuit in Léon, the route between forest and streams in Tosse, the Pont du Loup circuit (12.3 kilometres) in Azur, the Lac de Soustons tour from Azur (18.4 kilometres), the GR8 and the forest trails in the commune will satisfy nature lovers.

The Lac d'Azur is certainly the most popular place in the municipality: with its beautiful beach, large pontoon, tennis courts and mini-golf, it attracts many families every year in search of a break in the shade of its trees. As for water sports, you will have a wide choice: kayaking, surfing, pedal boat, canoeing, rowing, sailing, fishing... There will be something for everyone. The Lake of Soustons is also ideal for sliding sports, such as paddle or Polynesian canoe.

Far enough away from the seaside resorts to avoid the crowds, but close enough to enjoy their assets, the small town of Azur is the perfect place to pack your bags and enjoy the splendid Landes beaches. Those of Seignosse, Soustons, the beaches of Messanges or Moliets-et-Maa will be perfect for family and sports breaks.
