If there is one flagship site not to be missed during your visit to Uzès, it is its ducal castle, also known as the Duchy of Uzès: steeped in history, this absolutely splendid castle combines in a single building the influences of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Age of Enlightenment and Modern Times. Built on an ancient Roman castoreum, this castle houses a Gothic chapel with magnificent stained glass windows, as well as a thick square tower, the "Bermonde Tower", from which the view of the city and the surrounding villages is breathtaking. Another striking building in Uzès that you can't miss at all: the Romanesque Fenestrelle Tower. A rare example of a 12th century round bell tower, this tower, with its original architecture and its 42 windows, gives it the appearance of a lace tower from a distance. Close to Place aux Herbes, don't miss the medieval garden at the foot of the King's Tower, famous for its many medicinal plants and ancient vegetable crops. The Town Hall and its facade decorated with pilasters, the Bishopric Square, the former Episcopal Palace and the Georges Borias Museum are to be added to the list of sites not to be missed when you come to Uzès. Gourmets, whether young or old, will not fail to visit the famous Haribo Candy Museum! Impossible to miss if you are in Uzès: you will discover the history of Haribo sweets, from the small ZAN liquorice factory to the expansion of what will later become one of the largest factories in the world, you will be amazed by the history of Dragibus, Car en Sac and other Tagada strawberries.

How to evoke Uzès without mentioning what makes its reputation throughout the world: the Pont du Gard. Imposing and impressive, this secular building, a true stone colossus, is breathtaking. A masterpiece of antiquity, it spans the Gardon river and is spread over three levels, 275 metres wide. Located on the most visited ancient site in France, this essential Roman aqueduct, which was once used to supply Uzès and Nîmes with water, has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. We recommend that photo lovers go there at sunset to capture the magnificent spectacle of the sun on the arches of the bridge.

In addition to being worth a visit for its exceptional architecture, the Pont du Gard site is loved by sports enthusiasts for the wide range of activities it offers.
